Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there a charge for inclusion on Infobase?
A: No. Inclusion on Infobase is totally free of charge.

Q: Is there a charge for Infobase reports?
A: Most Infobase reports are offered free to voluntary organisations based in Glasgow. There is an administrative charge for reports prepared for private and statutory agencies, or voluntary organisations outwith the city.

Q: How long do Infobase reports take?
A: This can depend on the size and scale of the report, but in general we aim to provide all reports within 10 working days of the request. If you require a report in less time, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Q: Can I get a paper copy of Infobase?
A: We don't produce a paper copy of Infobase. We endeavour to keep the information as up to date as possible, so keeping the information on the website is the best way of limiting the amount of wrong or out of date information out there.

Q: How will you ensure that the information on Infobase is kept up to date?
A: Information will be kept updated by a number of methods, including feedback from organisations and an ongoing process of quarterly update calls and checking and amending.

Q: What measures are being taken to ensure that the website will be completely accessible?
A: In addition to ensuring that the Infobase website is designed in accordance with the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Accessibility Initiative, we are currently working with Jim Byrne of ScotConnect (formerly of the Making Connections Unit) who has extensive experience in this area.

Q: My organisation’s address has changed, how do I update the new details?
A: If any of your details have changed, or if you have noticed an error in the listing for your organisation, please let us know at updates.infobase@gcvs.org.uk and we’ll update the record.

Q: Is inclusion in Infobase worthwhile for small organisations?
A: Yes. We want to build up as accurate a picture of Glasgow’s community and voluntary sector as possible, so it is important to include different sizes of organisation.

Q: How do I sign up?
