Infobase Research
Infobase is much more than just a
directory of Glasgow's community and voluntary
organisations. Since the launch of Infobase in May
2005, the team has been involved
with a number of different research projects.
Infobase is now a recognised starting point for
anyone wishing to research
Glasgow’s community and voluntary sector. To date we have
been contacted by research consultants, academic
researchers, students and statutory agencies, in
addition to community and voluntary groups and
organisations themselves.
Our
involvement ranges from providing basic advice and
information on approaching research within the sector to
undertaking research projects in partnership with others
or on our own.
This
has provided us with the opportunity to encourage high
quality and relevant research within the voluntary and
community sector and to ensure that the needs of the
sector are represented, that groups and organisations
are well-informed of various research projects and where
possible to encourage groups and organisations to inform
the development of various research agendas.
If
you would like to find out more or discuss a potential
research project you are interested in please contact Mary
Sinclair, Infobase Research Manager by email at mary.sinclair@gcvs.org.uk

Community Transport Glasgow: Survey of Community
Transport Operators 2006
This research was undertaken by Infobase in conjunction with Community
Transport Glasgow in early 2006. The aim of the research
was to gather relevant information from community
transport operators and other community and voluntary
organisations that own or make use of vehicles in
Glasgow. This information will enable CTG to promote and
support the delivery of high quality, reliable,
accessible transport solutions to the communities of
Glasgow.

Engaging in Community
Learning & Development Planning in
Glasgow
This
research was undertaken to inform the development of
services by both GCVS and our partners to support and
enable the voluntary sector to effectively participate
in Community Learning & Development Planning (CLDP)
processes across the city. The study explores the
perceptions and experiences of voluntary organisations
with regard to CLDP, and looks at issues that may result
from involvement in the process.
The
project, part funded by a grant from Learning
Connections, was carried out in the Autumn of 2005.
